Hike for HoneyBellair, FL
Today the trek begins for Michael Kein and Caterina Lewis-Perry, former AmeriCorps alumni, as they embark on a journey to raise money for non-profit organizations that foster and care for neglected animals, both domesticated and wild. They plan to begin from the southernmost trailhead of the Florida Trail heading north to Pensacola, FL and head all the way to Maine by September, averaging 15 miles a day. They have set up their own website so that supporters can follow their journey and hopefully inspire others to hike for their passions!

This past week I vacationed in one of the largest resort towns in the US, Las Vegas, Nevada. I toured nearly all of the resorts on the strip and found great inspiration in each one of them. Though this trip was merely intended to be a fun getaway, it has helped tremendously in getting the gears greased for some current projects I am working on for a certain resort in the Bahamas, details to be announced next year. The Venetian, Bellagio, and Cesar's Palace were among the most breathtaking, but every resort had such a modern elegance with even the most simple of details.

Surf ReportOil Spill in the Gulf
The still unplugged oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico continues to grow as a threat to our Florida beaches. Oil found in our gulf's current suggests tar will wash up in the next 10 days, further damaging the fragile ecosystem and possibly manipulating the hurricane season due to higher than normal water temperatures. More info to come, so far no tar has been spotted, but keep an eye out and a lending hand. Surf's up...
